Danone. Logistics support for a French FMCG manufacturer.
The Challenge
Danone is one of the global leaders in FMCG, with products sold in over 120 countries across five continents. The Polish branch needed better digital support to manage logistics and keep product transport under control.
The main issues were: no structured way to coordinate shipments, poor communication across the supply chain, low visibility and accountability for transport orders and pallet tracking, no clear scheduling for warehouse availability and delivery notifications, and limited reporting across logistics processes.
The Solution
We delivered the ChiliWorkflow document management and process automation system, tailored specifically to Danone’s logistics needs. A lot of it required customization, but that was key to making the whole setup work smoothly.
As a result, we implemented tools that cover end-to-end logistics operations, including transport management across distribution, transfers, imports, and exports, with full tracking at every stage and handling of shipping documents like orders and delivery notes.
The system also supports warehouse slot booking (loading/unloading ramps), internal communication, cost management with flexible pricing and penalty rules, and monthly cost reporting.
On top of that, it integrates with external systems like SAP and ORTEC, supports pallet tracking, and provides comprehensive reporting across logistics processes..
The Results
The ChiliWorkflow system helped Danone streamline logistics in Poland, covering both domestic transport and international import/export from Polish factories.
By automating data exchange with external systems, shipments are now generated automatically based on SAP orders, with route data pulled directly from planning and optimization tools. Everyone involved in the supply chain—planners, carriers, and warehouse teams—has real-time visibility into transport status, making communication faster and reactions to logistics events much more efficient.
Key Benefits:
- smoother freight handling across all distribution channels
- full visibility and accountability across the supply chain
- accurate tracking of transport costs, including late delivery penalties
- more efficient pallet management
- multi-level reporting for better decision-making
